Safeguarding

Safeguarding

The parishes of St. Luke’s and St. John’s are committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm.

We follow the House of Bishops’ guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSO). The Diocese of Exeter safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the Parish Safeguarding Officers (details of which can be found on posters inside both churches or on our Staff & Leadership page) or contact the Diocese Safeguarding Officers (contact details for whom can be found on their website).

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services

If you feel unable to talk to our safeguarding officers you can raise a concern with a member of the clergy or churchwardens – their details are available on the contact us page.
